This work is a facsimile of a Ph.D. thesis submitted to the faculty of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in 1964. The work examines the forms, structure, the concept of the "Dream Vision", the theological structure, the religious and didactic content and ultimately the specifics of the imagery present in the famous Middle-English poem,"Pearl". Annotations in pen from the original document have been copied over to the facsimile. Wrappers with light creasing and smudges to the front and back covers. Light sunning to spine and back cover.
