London: Thomas Nelson & Sons, ca. 1890. Softcover. Oblong 32mo. 39pp. + 12 loose 4"x 6" color chromolithographs on cardstock. In original light blue envelope with decorative label in red and gold on front. Guide book in light red and white lithographically illustrated wrappers. The individual chromolithographs are beautifully produced in vibrant color, and showcase various sites and natural features of the landscape in this area of Scotland, including valleys, hills, lakes and streams. The accompanying guide book features informative text on the various sites of the region, a map and b&w engravings. Envelope missing the top flap, with bottom and right edges detached. Some closed tears along edges and some smudging present. Guide book with some light smudging to front and back covers, with light rubbing to spine. Small stain to top right corner of front cover. Small markings in pen from previous owner, to top right corner of title page, dated 1899. Interior of guide book in overall very good condition. Minor smudging to top of one of the chromolithographs. All others in very good+ condition. g- to vg+. Item #40698
