This is the published brochure for the 1984 Los Angeles Film Exposition, held from July 5th-20th, at the Nuart, Pickwood and Four Star theaters. The Filmex Society later changed its name to the now well known American Cinematheque, and now holds its festivals year round. Included is the entire schedule for the festival divided by thematic categories. Each film listed is accompanied by a b&w photo still, main cast & crew credits, and plot summary/description. Among the many films featured are John Huston's "Under The Volcano", Jonathan Demme's "Stop Making Sense", The Coen Brother's "Blood Simple", and Jim Jarmusch's "Stranger Than Paradise". Includes an additional typewritten schedule for the days of July 15-17th laid in and an additional full folded program schedule in newsprint at the back. Wrappers with minor age wear including minor scratches, smudging and creasing to front and back cover. Interior with minor smudges on a few pages.
