The third and last in a series of three portfolios of delightful Art Nouveau designs by Etienne Mulier. It contains 40 striking chromolithographic plates with designs involving floral and allegorical motifs identified by titles such as 'Interpretation de la Rose,' 'Interpretation d'Eglantine,' 'Frise de Magnolia,' 'Attributs de la Musique,' 'Attributs de la Danse,' 'Attributs de la Chasse,' etc. Some of the plates present the overall decorative pattern, and others enlarged details of those patterns (Plates #12 and #13).
Portfolio rubbed along edges, age-toned and foxed on covers, with water-staining along upper margin. Text pages missing, but all the 40 chromolithographs are present. Moderate age-toning and foxing along paper margin. Lower margin of plate 31 slightly creased and chipped (not affecting image). Captions in French. Portfolio in overall fair, interior in good to very good, chromolithographs in very good condition. f to vg. Item #40571
