The book presents Hitler's achievement in building the Reichsautobahn featured as a creative project demonstrating the technical expertise and the German's will to rebuild in the Third Reich. Nazi Propaganda glorifying the project to lower unemployment in Germany successfully. The underlying purpose, by no means stressed in this publication, was to move the Wehrmacht and equipment faster and more efficiently through Germany for Hitler's planned war. Includes writings on its cultural importance, the legal basis, its influence on the development of technical progress in roadworks, and various detail regarding the project including a comparison of efficiency of regular highways and the Autobahn. Profusely illustrated with striking b/w photographs (Else Hege and others) of the autobahn, its models, technical drawings, diagrams, tables and maps throughout. Text in German.
