Original portfolio with black and red lettering on cover, protected by modern mylar. Delteil 129-142 no longer known print states 'after deletion of publisher's addresses'; Wittrock 124ff., notation to "Edition de la partition musicale vers 1895"; Bassenge Lot 3602. 14 Toulouse-Lautrec illustrations printed on vellum from original stones for chansons (songs) with music by Désireé Dihau and lyrics by Jean Richepin. These early lithographic works by Toulouse-Lautrec are title pages for a music series of chansons, formerly in possession of the house of Joubert. Text in French. Portfolio damage, covers separated at spine, flaps at top and foredge separated but present, lower flap barely attached. Pates lightly browned along edges. Original printed paper portfolio with red and black lettering on front cover. Title page in red and black lettering. In 1895, Toulouse-Lautrec was commissioned to create fourteen lithographic song sheet covers for the popular ballads of Desire Dihau (Loys Delteil 129 to 142). This work is the complete portfolio comprising the 14 lithographs in black.
