Beautifully illustrated children's story featuring a bear being careless with his oral hygiene, suffering the consequences. A tale of caution for children. The illustrations are by Konstantin Rotov, the famous Russian cartoonist. Text in Russian. Wraps with wear along edges, small chips and lower right corner of front cover clipped. Block age-toned and laid into covers. Some light creasing of corners at foredge. Wraps in overall good-, interior in good condition. g- to g. Item #39621

Boris Kornilov (1907-1938) was a Soviet, Russian poet. He wrote the words for "The Song of the Meeting," used to open the morning national broadcast in the Soviet Union. During the Great Purge he was arrested in 1937, shot in Leningrad on February 20, 1938 and posthumously rehabilitated.

Konstantin Rotov (1902-1959) was a supporter of the Bolsheviks and a famous Soviet artist, cartoonist and book illustrator. He worked as a cartoonist for the Pravda newspaper, Krokodil (Krakadil) magazine and illustrated numerous children's books. Rotov was arrested in 1940 and has been sent to GULAG as an American spy, exiled and rehabilitated in 1954.
