Boris Kornilov (1907-1938) was a Soviet, Russian poet. He wrote the words for "The Song of the Meeting," used to open the morning national broadcast in the Soviet Union. During the Great Purge he was arrested in 1937, shot in Leningrad on February 20, 1938 and posthumously rehabilitated.
Konstantin Rotov (1902-1959) was a supporter of the Bolsheviks and a famous Soviet artist, cartoonist and book illustrator. He worked as a cartoonist for the Pravda newspaper, Krokodil (Krakadil) magazine and illustrated numerous children's books. Rotov was arrested in 1940 and has been sent to GULAG as an American spy, exiled and rehabilitated in 1954.
