Essays on Mishna Avot, on the students of Aharon, on the love for creation, and the desire to come closer to the Torah, in other words to God. "If I am not for me, who is, if not now, when?" is the basic verse which underlines all of the potential ways towards living a more meaningful, more faithful life closer to God. Pieksin describes five ways of living: 1. The ordinary way, 2. The holy way, 3. The God-fearing way, 4. The intellectual way and 5. The way of Wisdom. The author closes his book with a summary, which reads as the author's notebook to the Torah containing his comments on particular stories, e.g. Cain and Abel. Text in Hebrew. Cover barely connected to block with leather spine mostly missing. Boards with larger chips near spine, scuffed and some additional chips along edges. Endpapers with soiling and pencil notes; bookplate on inside front cover with printing scratched out. Half an inch of free front endpaper missing at top. Library stamp on title page covered with white paper. Staining due to water exposure throughout. Minor damage due to bookworms in upper margin near gutter in second half of the book.
