Leipzig: Oscar Brandstetter, 1913. First edition. Softcover. Poster. Folio (20 x 14"). Original cream and black lithograph with gilt lettering and contours of illustration overprinted in gold on cardboard. Original design by Erich Waschneck depicting a white Doric column with exhibition information at top and bottom of poster, and "Erich Waschneck 1911" in cursive printing at right bottom of image. Printed by Emil Pinkau & Co., Leipzig. Waschneck studied painting at the Leipzig Art Academy. Starting in 1907 he began painting posters for films, worked as a still photographer and later for Fritz Arno Wager as a camera assistant. In 1924 he started to work as director and as a film producer in the 1930s. Poster in near fine condition.

Booklet. Octavo. 47 (1)pp. Original illustrated white, stapled wraps with black lettering on cover, protected in modern mylar. Frontispiece portrait of Friedrich August, King of Saxony. Guide to the World Fair for Architecture and Housing and several special exhibitions. Inside cover with map of Western Europe with train connections. Introduction on exhibition, it's parameters, the special exhibitions and the location. The program part of the guide is illustrated with striking b/w reproductions of photographs showing buildings on the exhibitions grounds as well as historical architectural photographs and drawings. The exhibitions are structured by the categories engineering, building construction, city planning and residential areas. Additional chapters elaborate on housing, the garden city Leipzig-Marienbrunn, the construction industry, architectural design and worker's protection. The special exhibitions cover the areas of city planing, housing, architecture and sport, and others. Includes list of members and honorary members of the World Fair Association. Guide with moderate foxing of covers, inside and out. Very light foxing on title page, last page and foredge. Overall in very good condition.

Original blue quarter leather over blue-gray cloth with gilt-stamped illustration and lettering on cover. Plum endpapers. Frontispiece portrait. First and only edition of this rare documentation of the "Internationale Baufach-Ausstellung" in Leipzig, 1913, featuring among many other exhibitions, the Leipzig Central Railway Station and the Monument for the Peoples Battle (Völkerschlachtdenkmal). Due to the outbreak of W.W.I the effect of this major exhibition was limited. The documentation includes the work of all committees, description and images of buildings exhibited, including all Special Exhibitions, and the financial background of the exhibition and its various projects. The report is comprised of more than 50 reports on architecture as art and science, workers protection, construction industry and the crafts involved in architecture, financial management as well as the art exhibitions at the fair, including the caricature and photography exhibitions. Many of the exhibitors were members of the Deutsche Werkbund, an association of architects, architects, designers and industrialists that was seminal in the development of modern architecture and industrial design, e.g. Bruno Taut, Bernd Stadler, Max Heidrich. Includes an illustrated contribution on the Deutsche Werkbund and Raumkunst (interior design). One of the extraordinary, award-winning special exhibitions features the "Das Monument des Eisens (Monument of Iron)" designed by the architects Bruno Taut and Josef Hoffmann for the company Breest & Co. The report is profusely illustrated with extraordinary in-text and full page offset reproductions of sepia-toned photographs, drawings and floor plans. The charter and by-laws of the fair as well as presentations of various companies exhibiting at the fair at rear. Text in German. Binding with wear along edges, small chips and scuffing. With three texts on the exhibition and the garden suburb of Leipzig-Marienbrunn. profusely illustrated with b/w photographs of works exhibited at the Leipzig exhibition, many of them full page, three in color.

Oblong Sextodecimo. 5 leaves Leporello. Original illustrated cover in black with lettering and frame on gray paper. The Leporello features a b/w panoramic view of the exhibitions grounds under construction of one side and b/w reproductions of photographs of various parts of the exhibition with descriptive text in German. Leporello with horizontal folding crease in center. Leporello in good to good very condition.

Octavo twofold illustrated brochure with black lettering on salmon wraps. 6pp., and two color illustrated poster stamps, one with same design as poster with gilt lettering (1 3/4 x 1 1/4"), the other with color image of Leipzig with white and yellow lettering (2 3/8 x 1 1/4"). The brochure gives an overview of the the exhibition location and program with concerts, illuminated parts of the city, rebuilt city parts according to standards around 1800, and agricultural exhibition, Paul Branns Marionette Theater, the amusement park, pubs, the garden city Leipzig-Marienbrunn, a number of congresses and the XII. German Gymnastic Festival. The last page announces the dedication of the "Battle of Nations Monument" on October 18th of 1913, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the battle. Overall in near fine condition. Text of all items in German, and all protected by modern mylar.
