Deutsches Reich Judentum und Sozialismus. Eine Rede an die Freideutsche Jugend

München: Georg C. Steinicke, 1919. First edition. Softcover. Small Quarto. 23 (1)pp. Original ochre wraps with black ruling and lettering on cover. Speech by Hans Blüher, an early member of the Wandervogel movement, on the German state, Judaism and socialism, held at conferences of the Freideutsche Jugend (Free German Youth) in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich in 1919. Filled with patriotic German values it is meant to be a motivational speech in view of conflicts within the youth movement after the German defeat in W.W.I. Comparing the Jewish and German people in a historical and religious perspective, Blüher points to the similarities between the two peoples but emphasizes the differences in a scathing tone, pointing to the inferior attributes of the Jewish people and identifies socialism as extraneous and a product of Jewish thought. Laid in a newspaper clipping on Jehudi and small handwritten note. Text in German. Wrappers with wear along edges, minor chips and creasing. Small tear at top of spine. Block age toned. Some pencil notations in text. Wrappers and interior in overall good condition. g. Item #38091
