Blue edges. Printer's emblem of a deer on title page. Tailpiece. Commentary on the talmudic tractates of Brakhot and Seder Moed printed in double columns and Rashi script. The commentary heavily focuses on the interplay between Rashi and the Tosafists. Includes introductions by the author and his nephew, R. Abraham Auerbach. Author's introduction discusses the destruction of Jewish books during the French Reign of Terror. This was the only volume printed at the time, though the rest were printed during the 20th century by Mekhon Yerushalayim. R. Joseph David Sinzheim served as the chief rabbi of Strasbourg during the period of the French Revolution and presided over Napoleon's Grand Sanhedrin. Text in Hebrew. Boards heavily scratched. Head of spine chipped. Corners badly rubbed. Edges faded. Binding starting, but all leaves are still attached. Name of previous owner on title page. Some staining and creasing to leaves.
