The carpets published in color in this book have been selected from the carpets on display and those in the depots of the Istanbul Vakiflar Carpet Museum collection. Most of them were collected from mosques in Anatolia which had been constructed by the Pious Foundations (Vakiflar) during the Turco-Islamic period. This representative selection contains some notable early Anatolian carpets and a few carpets from the Caucasus and Iran. This volume contains numerous in-text figs and b/w photographic thumbnails, 1 color map, and 83 striking color plates. Minor shelf wear. Text in English and German.
