Quarto. 31pp. Original photo-illustrated gray wraps with blue and brown lettering on cover. 2nd sample (Probeheft) of the monthly magazine Werk und Kunst published by the Reichsverband für Deutsche Werkkunst with contributions on art in Protestant churches. Includes an essay on basic questions relating to the topic by Dr. Stephan Hirzel, a questionnaire about stylistic changes in church art and a treatise by Robert B. Witte on craft and church. Profusely illustrated with b/w photographs of churches, stained glass windows, religious sculptures, candle holders, chalices, chorrocks including one designed by Peter Behrens. Contributors are Rudolf Koch and Martin Elsaesser among others. Laid in a mimeograph letter to the members of the Reichsverband für Deutsche Werkkunst announcing the new magazine and an offprint of an excerpt from the first sample magazine: An overview of the concept of the new magazine "Werk und Kunst" (craft and art). The magazine was published for one year from March 1930 to March 1931. Wrappers smudged and rubbed with some wear along edges, small chips at corners and spine. Small ink smudges on pages 22 and 23.
