Softcover. Large 4to. Original printed gray folder with red lettering. Contains pamphlets inside. A series of lectures by R. Elmer Berger given at Hunter college on behalf of the American Council of Judaism, a breakaway faction of Reform Judaism that opposed Zionism. Reform Judaism had originally opposed Zionism in the Pittsburgh Platform of 1885, but moderated its stance in the Columbus platform of 1937. Berger even denounced Israel after the Six Day War. The ACJ also supported the Soviet Union, though it contained libertarians such as Frank Chodorov and Murray Rothbard. Includes lectures on Judaism as a universal faith, its history, monotheism and emancipation. Folder creased and stained. Overall in good condition. g. Item #37125
