Account on the physical and philosophical aspects of atomism. Fechner was a German philosopher and physicist. He is known as a pioneer of experimental psychology and considered to be the founder of psychophysics. Fechner published papers on chemistry and physics. His major work is "Elemente der Psychophysik (Elements of Psychophysics)." The first edition of the title at hand was published in 1855, five years before his major work Elemente der Psychophysik. The second edition has the added chapters 5, 9, 27, 28 (the latter about the psychological value of the basic atom) and has revised chapter 16, 21, 24, and 25. Text in German. Binding with light wear. Minor remnants of original, removed wrappers before title page and last page. A couple of pencil marks in margins of foreword.
