The art magazine "XXe Siècle" was published until the death of Gualtieri di San Lazzaro in 1974 at a rate of two issues per year. The magazines, dedicated exclusively to the latest trends in contemporary art, were profusely illustrated, published in a large hardcover format on high quality paper and included embedded original lithographs by the leading artists of the 20th century.
These two volumes deal with Surrealist art in painting, and are complete with 7 original lithographs by Max Ernst, Richard Lindner, Dorothea Tanning, Salvador Dali, Jacques Hérold, Wifredo Lam, and Charles Lapicque.
