This edition improved by appropriate questions for the examination of scholars and by illustrative notes and a dictionary of philosophical terms. Illustrated with 24 detailed scientific b/w lithographs, incl. frontispiece. Contains a comprehensive dictionary of philosophical terms at rear. Binding with wear along edges, corners and scuffed. Spine creased, small tears at top and one inch chip missing at tail. Endpapers stained, some pencil and inked notes and reinforced with library tape at joint. Moderate foxing throughout, including plates. Though foxed motifs of plates clearly decernible. Plate v missing 2" at bottom. Plate vii and viii with tears, visuals intact. Library tape reinforced between plates ii and iii. A few penciled notes and a drawing on blank versos of three plates. Binding and interior in overall fair condition. fair. Item #35924
