Schiller's dramatization of the early 14th century legend of Swiss national hero Wilhelm Tell, first recorded in the Swiss Chronicle late in the 15th century. Tell and his son were sentenced to be executed as a result of their refusal to acknowledge the authorities. The famous apple-shot by WilhelmTell, shooting an apple placed on the head of his son with a crossbow, saved their lives. Translated into Persian by Sma Jamal-Zadeh, into Pashto by M. Alam Otman and published at the Pashtu Academy in Kabul, Afghanistan. Illustrated with one b/w map and an additional portrait of Schiller. Text in Pashto and Persian.
