Morris Lichtenstein was an early 20th century European born American Reform rabbi, who served in Georgia and New York. Along with his wife Tehilla, he helped found the Society of Jewish Science. He exemplifies one of the major strains within Reform Judaism of the time period that sought to reach out to the more traditional Eastern European immigrants by offering many of the same practical healing services performed by shtetal rabbis, while offering it with the veneer of modern science.
