Illustrated with 135 impressive color (89) and monochrome plates of religious buildings and building details in Central Asia and Azerbaijan, e.g. the Gur Amir mausoleum, the Registan ensemble in Samarkand, the Ulug Beg and Mir-i-Arab madrasahs in Bokhara, monuments in Tashkent, and so on. Text in Arabic, Persian and Uzbek, the laid in pamphlet contains translations in Russian, English and French. Binding is rubbed with light wear and soiling along edges; a few small white marks on cover. Spine lightly sunned. Pamphlet and book block lightly age-toned. Slipcase bottom attached but separated at one edge, top with a 4" chip which is present but detached. Slipcase in overall fair, interior and pamphlet in good+ condition. g. Item #35522
