A striking collection of Olympic cards published by the German coffee company Heinrich Franck Söhne. It is complete with the first six sets of a collection of 30 dedicated to the 1936 Olympic Games. Each set is composed of 6 colorful cards portraying Olympic competitors and are hinge-mounted on captioned leaves. Portrayed in this collection of 36 cards are some of the most renown German and international athletes of the period, such as Gerhard Stõck; Hans Heinrich Sievert; Gisela Mauermayer; Erich Borchmeyer; Wilhelm Leichum; Hans Scheele; Wolfgang Dessecker; Nikolaus Anton "Toni" Merkens; Gisela Arendt; Konrad Miersch; George Spitz (USA); Chuhei Nambu (Japan), who, as of 2013, is the only athlete to have held world records in both the long jump and the triple jump; Kalevi Kotkas (Finland); Mildred "Bebe" Didrikson (USA), etc.. Some sunning and creasing along edges of wrappers. Lower front corner slightly bumped, thus slightly affecting pages throughout. Minor foxing and slight creasing along edges of text pages.
