Urkunden und Aktenstücke des Reichsarchivs Wien zur reichsrechtlichen Stellung des Burgundischen Kreises. 3 Vols.

Vienna: Adolf Holzhausens Nachfolger, 1944, 1945. First edition. Quarto. ix, 448, 473, viii, 507pp. 3/4 black cloth over decorative paper-covered boards. Elaborate study of the historic foundation of Western Europe, especially the territory of Burgundy and the so-called Burgundy Empire-Circle (burgundische Reichskreis) instituted by Maximilian I. in 1512. Published in 1944 and 1945 this publication was scheduled to have 4 volumes of which 3 were published. Triggered by the German victories in Western Europe and the subsequent reconfiguration of the territories by the Nazis the historical and legal background of nations like Belgium, the Netherlands, and the French state of Burgundy came into focus. This collection of documents was meant to shed light onto the legal status, in particular of Burgundy, as it relates to German-Austrian state configurations. Rare complete set of this unfinished publication. Text in German. Vol. 1: Binding reinforced with black library tape at front hinge. 5" scratch across middle of front cover. Corners bumped and creased. Starting after title page. Vol. 2: Corners bumped and creased. Starting at inside front and back cover. Vol. 3: Lightly bumped and creased at corners.
