Published in this edition the account of the 2nd journey of Ibn Batûta, that is that part of his report that starts with an 8 1/2 year stay at the court of Dihli, but this not complete since his return via Persia, the Iraq, Syria and Northern Africa, his detour to Spain and his journey to the Sudan had to be omitted, not only because they go beyond the cohesive frame of the part translated here, but because they would have demanded elaborate notes relating to his first journey (translated from the preface).
