This remarkable work tells the history of the 1793 Second Partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, which was the second of three partitions that ended the existence of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth by 1795. The second partition occurred in the aftermath of the War in Defense of the Constitution and the Targowica Confederation of 1792, and was carried out by the Russian Empire and the Kingdom of Prussia. The division was ratified by the coerced Polish parliament in 1793 in a short-lived attempt to prevent the inevitable annexation of Poland (from Wikipedia). Spine slightly age-toned.
