Among the Japanese champions portrayed in this book are featured the gold-medalist swimmers (Yasuji Miyazaki, Masanori Yusa, Takashi Yokoyama, Hisakichi Toyoda, Yoshiyuki Tsuruta, Kusuo Kitamura, and Masaji Kiyokawa). Among the seven Olympic golds won by Japan in 1932, five of them were in swimming. Also featured is gold-medalist Takeichi Nishi who won the individual jumping in equestrian, and gold-medalist Chuhei Nambu, winner of the Men's triple jump in athletics.
