Berlin: Willy Römer, 1933. Photographs. Paperback. 5 x 7" original photographs depicting SA members in uniform posting anti-Jewish propaganda, patrolling by truck and standing guard with propaganda signs inciting Germans to resist and boycott Jewish businesses. One photograph showing two police officers "on the beat" passing by broken display windows, two others crowds gathering in front of Jewish businesses, respectively reading a sign on an advertising pillar with boycott messages. Information on verso of photos attribute ownership of these Willy Römer photographs to different sources. One photograph is stamped by Willy Römer's agency on verso, one Photothek, three from "ullstein bild", and 4 w/o ownership indication. Four photographs are dated April 1st, 1933, in captions on verso, respectively in handwriting, five of them are 1980 prints from original negatives. Willy Römer's press agency was one of the most important photographic agencies of the Weimar Republic. His photographs document life in Berlin from 1905 - 1935. His extensive archive of photographs, including the photographs of the destroyed post war Berlin, survived the destruction of the war. Photographs are in overall very good condition. vg. Item #34726
