Special edition printed on blue deluxe paper. Important critique of Kant's philosophy and the only one acknowledged by Kant himself. In a letter to Herz (1789) Kant writes 'not only do none of my opponents understand me and the main question so well, but few have the ingenuity to conduct such a profound analysis as Mr. Maymon." Maimon's critique was acknowledged by other contemporaries as well, and it had a profound impact on Kant and the development of his philosophy. Text in German, Gothic script. Binding lightly rubbed and slightly bumped. End papers, title and last page browned at corners. Binding in overall very good, interior in fine condition.
