"Die goldene Kette" is a poignant drama in three acts in which Peretz stresses the timeless chain of Jewish culture. Born in Poland in 1852, Jizchok Leib Perez was a prolific writer of poems, short stories, drama, humorous sketches, and satire and was instrumental in raising the standard of Yiddish literature to a high level. He died in Warsaw in 1915. Moderate shelfwear on wrappers. Previous owner's name on half-title, and dated 1918. Minor age-toning along paper margin.
