Softcover. 8vo. 37, [3]pp. Original color-illustrated wraps. 1936 publication by the Reichsnährstand organization on the extracting of colors from plants and its use in various products. The Reichsnährstand (RNS) was a government body in Nazi Germany to regulate food production. It had legal authority over everyone in agricultural production and distribution. The Reichsnährstand's argument that Germany was in need of an additional 8 million hectares of farmland influenced Hitler's decision to invade Russia and to gain "Lebensraum." Illustrated with b/w photographic reproductions of drawings and some photographs. Small golden blind-stamped (paper) medal of the 1938 Berlin International Craftsmen exhibition pasted on inside of front wrapper with illustration and text "Internationale Handwerksausstellung Berlin 28. Mai - 10. Juli 1938." Three pages of advertisements in rear. Text in German, gothic script. Age wear, creasing and minor staining on wraps. Head and tail of spine chipped. Top and bottom corners bumped slightly affecting leaves throughout. Water staining on bottom margins of leaves throughout not affecting text or images. Overall fair condition. fair. Item #33937
