Mathis Gothart-Nithart) was a German Renaissance painter of religious works. The controversial artist ignored Renaissance classicism to continue the expressive and intense style of late medieval Central European art into the 16th century. Profusely illustrated with color and some b/w photographic reproductions of work by the artist. Text in German. Small abrasion on bottom edge of front board. Slight creasing to parts of dj edges.
