Budapest: 1944. Remarkable collection of four documents related to the attempts to save the Hungarian Jews:

1.) Immigration-certificate to Palestine issued by the department of foreign citizens at the Swiss consulate in Budapest. Certificate in the name of Petö Róbert and his family. Document bearing the stamp of the Swiss consulate in Budapest, signed by Carl Lutz and dated September 29, 1944. Document in German.

2.) Certificate issued by Angelo Rotta, the Pope's representative in Budapest. Document bearing the stamp of the Apostolic Nunciature, signed by Angelo Rotta and dated November 11, 1944. Text in Hungarian. Certificate taped and slightly chipped along central fold mark.

3.) Collective pass issued by the department of foreign citizens at the Swiss consulate in Budapest. Pass in the name of Földes Sándor and his spouse. Document bearing the stamp of the Légation de Suisse in Budapest, and dated October 23, 1944. (Stamped signature unreadable). Document in German and Hungarian.

4.) Certificate issued by the Swedish consulate in Budapest, in the name of Fodor László. Document bearing the stamp of the Swedish consulate, hand-signed by Carl Ivan Danielsson, the Swedish Ambassador to Hungary, and dated September 9, 1944. Document in Hungarian.
