1) Men who make them: 20 pages with b/w reproductions of drawings showing portraits of Louis B. Mayer, Irving Thalberg, Harry Rapf, Rex Ingram, Fred Niblo, Victor Seastrom, Marshall Neilan, Frank Borzage, Erich Von Stroheim, Tod Browning, Hobart Henley, King Vidor, Robert Z. Leonard, Rupert Hughes, Alf Goulding, Josef Von Sternberg, Benjamin Christianson, and Edmund Goulding. Each drawing with short descriptive text of each man's role in the Studio.
2) 36 full-page color illustrated movie advertisements (* list of movies below). Section interleaved with 17 pages of portraits (all tipped-in on Roxburghe cover) showing the following actors: Ramon Novarro, John Gilbert, Buster Keaton, Norma Shearer, Conrad Nagel, Lon Chaney, Eleanor Boardman, Lew Cody, Aileen Pringle, Lillian and Dorothy Gish, Zasu Pitts, Mae Murray, Mae Busch, Claire Windsor, Carmel Myers, Renee Adoree, and Marion Davies. Portraits such as these were displayed in the lobby of movie theaters. Includes two pages listing finished screenplays, works in production, about to be started, or contemplated for production followed by 2 page illustrated article "The World's Greatest Cosume designer Erté of Paris comes to Metro-Goldwyn Mayer."

Heavy staining and age wear on binding. Majority of pages disbound. Parts of edges on some leaves creased. Slight abrasion and staining to outer margins of few leaves. Some waterstaining on lower margin of Ben Hur fold-out, not affecting image, slightly creased on top area of outer fold. Rippling on endpapers. Binding poor, overall condition of interior pages good to good+. Scarce 1925 Metro-Goldwyn publicity book giving a unique insight into Hollywood's Golden Age of the Silent Movies. Item #32245
