About the photographer: Adolf Lazi (1884-1955) was a German photographer and sculptor, known as one of the founding fathers of product photography. Focusing on the stylistic and technical quality standard in photography, his works had a large impact on the objective style of still lifes and its popularity for business and marketing. After a few years working in Munich, Adolf Lazi moved to Paris, where he took up a position in the studio of Paul Nadar. At the outbreak of WWI, Lazi had to leave France and moved to the Black Forest, where he founded his own photo studio. In 1950 he founded the “Internationale Schule für Höhere Fotografie-Lazi” (International School of Higher Photography) in Stuttgart, which is nowadays known as the European School of Film and Design.
