Cover with b/w reproduction of a drawing by Lasker-Schüler. 1921 publication with a collection of letters by German writer, Peter Hille (1854-1904) to Jewish-German poet, prose writer, and dramatist, Else Lasker-Schüler (1869-1945). Hille was one of the first supporters of Lasker-Schüler's works. Else was one of the few women affiliated with the German Expressionist movement. She fled from the National Socialists and after a brief stay in Switzerland emigrated to Jerusalem. Text in German, gothic script. Age wear, creasing, staining and sunning on wraps. Edges of wraps partially chipped with small closed tears. Foxing on endpapers. Wraps in fair, interior in overall very good condition. g. Item #29182
