Also known as the Crusaders' Cross, it is a heraldic cross or Christian symbol consisting of a large Greek cross surrounded by four smaller Greek crosses, one in each quadrant. Black cloth spine. Beveled edges. Illustrated with twenty-four photochrom prints by T. R. Dumas in rich vibrant colors showing various scenery and monuments of the Holy Land such as Jaffa, Mount Zion, Jerusalem, St. Sepulcre, Pool of Ezechias, Tower of Antonia, Mosque of Omar, Mosque el Aska, Garden of Gethsemani, Mount of Olives, Tomb of the Virgin Mary, Jews at the Wailing Wall, Bethlehem, Church of the Nativity, Jordan, and others. All plates protected by tissue-guards. Photochrom printed on heavy card stock with gold-lettered captions in French & handwritten captions in English on lower margin. Some surface scratches and minor age wear on boards. Sheet with handwritten contact information of previous owner pasted on inside of front board. Wear to corners of card stock, some staining on card stock margins. Age toning, creasing and chipping to some tissue guards.
