In this volume he covers the myths of: Circe's Palace; Dragon's Teeth; Jason and the Golden Fleece; Theseus and the Minotaur; Proserpina, Ceres, Pluto, and the Pomegrante Seeds; Antaeus and the Pygmies. This work is profusely illustrated with 12 b/w in-text illustrations and 10 full-page color illustrations (including frontispiece). Each color illustration is protected with a captioned tissue-guard. Some age-wear on binding with rubbing along joints and edges. Minor soiling/staining on covers. Hinges starting, split along gutter on front endpaper. Mid-section on spine bumped. Fly leaf inscribed by previous owner and dated April 1927. Minor and sporadic foxing on very first pages. Color plate facing page 218 is creased along edges and detached (but present).
