NP: NP, ND. Hardcover. Oblong quarto. 56pp. Color-illustrated paper-covered boards. Profusely illustrated with screen-printed & loose cut-out illustrations, held in place by thin mylar. The images are in rich, vibrant colors and depict characters from various regions in China in their unique costumes. Each plate accompanied by text in English and Chinese. The Papercut art form was originally invented in China and can be traced back to A.D. 386. The bright colors provide a strong sense of a joyful atmosphere. Papercuts are still used in celebrations such as weddings and other Chinese festivals, as well as decorations in private homes. Minor scuffing on boards. Very good to near fine condition.
