This fascinating anti-Nazi socialist weekly was published in the Netherlands, and started as a supplement to the paper Het Volk [The People]. The illustration on front cover is by Albert Hahn, Jr. and is titled "The purification of Germany". It displays a Nazi S.A. wearing a sign on his chest that reads "forbidden to Jewish businesses". Follows a list of banned names, including Jesus, Moses, Spinoza, Einstein and Marx. De Notenkrakers intended to show that Hitler and his Nazi party were barbarians. 8 pages of articles and political cartoons skewering the Nazis and Hitler. This magazine was banned in Germany the same year as the publication of this issue. Artists included Albert Hahn, Jr., Tjerk Bottema, Funke Kupper, G.V. Raemdonck and others. Tiny chipping along edges of front cover, with slight foxing and soil spots. Text in Dutch. Wraps in overall good to very good, interior in very good condition. Item #26604
