Free front endpaper inscribed and signed by Simon Wolf. Two original typed letters signed by author pasted on fly leaf and on last page. Both letters are addressed to Mrs. Purvin, critic at the "Sentinel". An hand-written errata letter also from Simon Wolf is pasted on inside of back board. Frontispiece portrait. Fascinating work written by Simon Wolf who was a lawyer and judge in Washington, D. C. He was also an advocate for the rights of Jews especially Jews in Eastern Europe. Often Wolf would advise Presidents on Jewish matters. This volume covers presidential terms from James Buchanan to Woodrow Wilson, followed by a chapter on humorous incidents. Some age wear on binding with spine age toned with remnants of sticker at lower part, and minor abrasion on central part of spine. Previous owner's stamp on free front endpaper (Rabbi William Mordecai Kramer). Slight age-toning along paper margin. Binding in overall good, interior in very good condition. g. Item #25059
