Illustrated with offset reproductions of sepia-toned photographs depicting close-ups, portraits of athletes participating in the events of the 14th German Turnfest (Gymnastics Festival) held in Köln in 1928. The photographs include shots of officials participating, e.g Konrad Adenauer and various high ranking military officers as well as frames depicting the enormous effort put force by hundreds of gymnast performing. The introductory text taut the event as a most powerful gymnastics festival being part of history, a tremendous event for all who stood in file to be part of it..., an incomparable event with tremendous effects on German identity. The pamphlet is a sobering example for the nationalistic trends present in Germany years before the advent of the Third Reich. Text in German, Gothic script. Some wear to wraps, upper right corner of front cover with small triangular chip, circular coffee or tee stain on cover, almost fitting into cover design, and rubbed. Block lightly age-toned.
