Verso of that page illustrated. "This volume is carefully classified and indexed, and bears much condensed information which it would be difficult otherwise to obtain. Over five hundred portraits tend to make this the most comprehensive collection yet published in this city. These illustrations are the result of the highest skill in modern art-engraving, and being the exact reproductions of photographs and of old portraits, some of them bearing the stamp of antiquity, are "truer to life" than any attempt at hand-engraving could possibly make them. In addition to the portraits with their titles, there is an index of two sections, one of names, the other of vocations." Every page printed on high-quality heavy card stock. Heavy age wear on binding. Front- and back cover held in place with binders tape placed over spine and along gutter in front- and rear endpapers. Discoloration on outer edges of front endpapers. Binders tape in front endpaper splitting, still holding. Binding in poor, interior in very good condition. A valuable source for anyone interested in early 20th century personalities of Baltimore. Scarce. poor to vg. Item #21937
