Handwritten paste-down on spine "Ferrara Sculptura." Rare work by Gustave Gruyer on sculpture in the Italian city of Ferrara in Emilia-Romagna, northern Italy. Illustrated with 11 b/w reproductions of in-text and some full page drawings, most of sculptures in the Cathedral of Ferrara. One illustrations shows Pope Clement VII, another is of St. George - patron of Ferrara - slaying a dragon. Age wear, scuffing and abrasions on binding. Small label with previous owner's name, stamp below label on inside of front board. Text in French. Binding in fair, interior in very good condition. Scarce. g. Item #21914
