Minor staining and creasing on wraps. 1" x 1/2" of bottom corner on back wrapper missing. Rare sales catalogue of "stock illustrations" (stock cuts) by the Indianapolis based Cobb Shinn Co. If an advertiser, or printer, wanted to use an image they would contact the company and have an electrotype or cut made which they were able to use in all forms of print media. Profusely illustrated with b/w reproductions of photographs and drawings. Cobb Shinn (1887-1951) is primarily known as a postcard artist. In his later years he turned to other forms of commercial art. He also produced books of "Clip art". These small drawings were used as fillers in newspapers as well as catalogues such as this.
