Title vignette. Apsley Pellatt (1791-1863) was an English master glass-maker. In this, his most famous work, Pellatt explains the various methods used to make many different types of glass. Illustrated with 6 chromolithographs (incl. frontis) in stunning colors as well as in-text figures and drawings in b/w. Perforated library stamp across vignette on title-page, closed tear on same page. Disbound in several parts, complete. Rear board detached but present, most of backstrip missing. Parts of spine have been crudely repaired with scotch tape. Library call number taped across tail of spine. Heavy age wear and staining on binding. Library reference plate pasted-down on inside of front board. Library stamps on title-page, two lithographs and several pages throughout. Pulling to edges of some leaves.
