[23],390,[2],pp. Blind-stamped tooled calf with gold lettering on spine. Engraved frontispiece depicting St. Peter and Mary Magdalene. Goodman's work on sinning and repenting was first published in 1679. The author describes sin as delusion, ignorance & madness and urges the readers to repent and to make appropriate steps in order to seek God's forgiveness. Illustrated with 5 double-page engravings, one plate loose. Front board and free front endpaper detached but present. Stamp of previous owner and some handwriting on inside of front board and free front endpaper, same stamp on margin of title-page & page three. Age wear, abrasions and surface hairline cracks on binding. Head and tail of spine chipped, parts of backstrip on head of spine missing. Minor rippling to pages. Binding in poor, interior in overall very good condition. fair. Item #21548
