Jerzy Linderski (b. 1934) is a Polish contemporary scholar of Ancient Roman history, religion and law. He is one of the most renowned Roman historians and classical philologists of the modern era. After receiving his Ph.D. in 1960 from the University of Krakow, Poland in 1960, Linderski has served on the faculties of the University of Oregon and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The main focus of his scholarship are Roman religion and augury, Roman law and Latin epigraphy. Jerzy Linderski is currently George L. Paddison Professor of Latin Emeritus at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. (Source: NationMaster).
