Rabbi Dr Sidney Brichto (born 1936) is a British Liberal Jewish rabbi. Born in Philadelphia to Orthodox Jewish parents. he began to reject religious orthodoxy as an adolescent. Brichto studied in New York, before being ordained in 1961. In the same year, he moved to England, where he became Associate Minister of the Liberal Jewish Synagogue in St John's Wood. Furthermore, he did post-graduate work at University College London. Brichto became the first Executive Director of the Union of Liberal and Progressive Synagogues, in 1964. Rabbi Sidney Brichto is a prolific author, who has been published extensively in the Jewish and national press. (Source: Public Domain).
