Work is the first German translation of the classical rabbinic text of Shemot Rabbah. The author, Karl August Wünsche (1839 - 1913) was a German Christian Hebraist who devoted his studies almost exclusively to rabbinic literature. Text is in German with selected Hebrew words and phrases. Scuffing and age wear to boards. Small residue on spine where title was once mounted.
