The author, Emmanuel Laroche (1914 - 1991) was an expert in ancient Anatolian languages (Indo-European and Hurrian) and professor of Anatolian studies at the Collège de France from the years 1973 - 1985. His work was considered groundbreaking still currently defines the state of the field. Some of his other works include but are not limited to: “Dictionnaire de la langue louvite,” “Cataloque des texts Hittites,” and “Glossaire De La Langue Hourrite.”.
