Frontis piece with a b/w illustration of the interior of the Hebrew Synagogue of Charleston, South Carolina in 1794 taken from a lithograph in the possession of Mayer Sulzberger of Philadelphia. Lovely book with a number of b/w facsimile photographs of important buildings, documents and figures from the Jewish community in South Carolina. Each chapter has a lovely decorative motif above text on first page, very beautiful volume. There is an envelop laid in holding a "Souvenir Postcard Set: 5 Different Views, The Synagogue of Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Charleston, South Carolina." With all five color postcards still inside, plus a b/w postcard dated 1921 from Palestine portraying a "Spanish Jew of Jerusalem." Very minor age wear to boards, book is in near fine condition. vg.
